Designing and building sets and props for Titus Andronicus for Frog and Peach Theatre Company was an interesting challenge. I was working with a very small budget and there was a one day load in and build out. I had to build and paint the sets in a single very long marathon of a day.

This is a set design I made for the West Side YMCA Teen Theater Collective version of the Mary Zimmerman play.
The set has a practical raised level, a central pool of water as well as two practical ladders representing the rise to mount Olympus and the descent to the Underworld.
The faux finish “decay hombre” set painting was done to reenforce the plays theme of change and reenforce the opposing locations depicted by the ladders.
